The defeated candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the last November Governorship Election in Bayelsa State, Chief Timipre Sylva, is making wrong political steps in his failed efforts to frustrate the ongoing Governorship Tribunal sitting in Abuja.
Sylva, who was roundly defeated by incumbent Governor Douye Diri, of the PDP, has missed several steps dancing “ogele.”
Sylva and his party in Bayelsa State lack the morality to challenge the integrity of the Justices in the Tribunal panel.
The tribunal is gradually exposing the various malpractices perpetrated by Sylva and his cohorts in several polling units in Nembe, Brass, Southern Ijaw and Ogbia Local Government Areas.
How could Sylva be brandishing fake results not backed by BVAS accreditation? This is ridiculous!
Does it not amount to “thievery” to ask INEC to accept concocted results from where election never took place? Should somebody not be queried for the manipulated figures caused to be influenced by certain ad-hoc staff in their bid to compromise the process?
The problem of Bayelsa Governorship has nothing to do with members of the Tribunal panel but Timipre Sylva, who wants to force the Justices to acknowledge his stolen votes.
Clearly, Sylva’s efforts are in futility. All his petitions against the Tribunal panel are borne out of frustration.
Imagine that after the President of the Court of Appeal cleared the Panel to continue with its assignment, Sylva and his agents approached the Tribunal with a fresh motion to ask panel members to withdraw from the matter.
Chairman of the Tribunal, Justice Adekunle Adeleye dismissed the motion after he took arguments from counsel to Sylva, Tunde Falola, Charles Edosanwan for INEC, Chris Uche, SAN, for Governor Diri, Chukwuma Machukwu Ume, for the Deputy Governor and Tayo Oyetibo for PDP.
Justice Adekeye, in a brief ruling, held that a letter from the President of the Court of Appeal on March 5, mandated the tribunal to proceed with the hearing of the petition, irrespective of any application by the parties.
In a very disappointing tone, Sylva’s lawyer, Falola, had argued that his clients filed the fresh application against the tribunal on the ground that the two petitioners were convinced beyond reasonable doubt that they could not get justice from members of the panel.
The truth is that Chief Timipre Sylva, is at the Tribunal on a faulty ground to validate his “cooked” and stolen votes in Nembe, Brass and Southern Ijaw LGAs.
Chief Timipre Sylva, has lost so much ground. His case at the Tribunal is a bad case. In fact, it is no case! No judge will validate votes stolen in a broad daylight!
As a former Minister and former Governor, this backyard move is certainly not honourable and the people of Bayelsa State are no longer enjoying the drama.
They are telling Sylva, to stop distracting the Governor as his bids to return to Creek Haven have since become a forlorn hope!
It is true that Chief Sylva, missed his steps while dancing to the ‘ogele’ that was being piloted to the seat of power.
