…Enjoins Youths To Be Security Conscious, Watch Out For Each Other Despite Political Differences 

 

Bight Newspaper reports that a Bayelsa State  premier youth body known as “ Prosperity Youth Coalition” has urged the Governor Douye Diri led administration to prioritize the welfare of the state’s youth in this year, 2024 and during his second term in office.

The pro-prosperity group led by its Director-General Comrade Doubara Kumokou, has in the spirit of the season sent out its goodwill message to the government and people of Bayelsa State.

The message which is contained in a statement issued by its secretary Barr. Igbeta Ayebakuro give glory to God Almighty for seeing the state through the intensity of the electioneering period that tested the mettle and unity of Bayelsans, especially the will of the youth to strive forwards with purpose.

It also recounted the successes of the Gov. Douye Diri led Prosperity administration in the areas of youth empowerment, physical development and prudent management of state resources in keeping with his social contract with Bayelsans by promising never to play politics with the development of the state.

“Youths of the state have never had it this good and we use this season of stock taking to appreciate the resolve and affirmative action of our dear governor on youth inclusion in running of the administration during his first term.

“We therefore urge our dear governor and captain of the Prosoerity ship just like Oliver twist, to up the ante by keeping with emerging global trend in enforcing 80% youth involvement and inclusiveness in his cabinet as he prepares to take oath for the second stanza of his divine leadership” the statement read in part.

“In wishing Bayelsans good tidings and praying for the best to come for the government and the good people of the state, the Secretary General of the Bayelsa State Centre for Youth Development and former National Legal Adviser of the IYC Worldwide, former Special Assistant to the MD, NDDC, Igbeta Ayebakuro, urged Youths to be security conscious and be ready to play their part in ensuring the security of lives and property by not engaging, encouraging or harbouring any person or act inimical to the peace and security of the state.”

The statement concluded with a call by the DG Snr.Comr Doubara Komukou on Bayelsan youths to get themselves prepared for the forth coming Bayelsa Youth Leadership Training/Summit in the pipeline, as the Prosperity Youths Coalition has reached advanced stage in the design of the summit, and forms would be made available to the public in the coming days free of charge, pleading with youths not to disregard the opportunity as the program is packed to prepare participants for leadership roles both in the public and private sectors.
