YENAGOA: An unidentified young man who is believed to be a cultist has been reportedly shot dead by suspected cultists in Biogbolo area of Yenagoa metropolis today 15th December 2018. A facebook user whose name is Charlie Sele-aue Solomon posted on “BAYELSANS ON FACEBOOK”. The three lines post reads:
“This young man was shot dead just now not more than 3min [sic] ago, in Biogbolo Bayelsa we need security”.
This happened a day after the Bayelsa State Police command reported that it had arrested suspected armed cultist in the state Capital.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Bayelsa State Command, DSP ASINIM BUTSWAT said on 13 December, 2018, via a press statement that at about 1330 hours, the Surveillance team of the Command Monitoring unit, acted on a tip-off and arrested one James Oweifa ‘m’ 22 years, a native of Agbere Community, Sagbama LGA.
DSP Asinim revealed that, the suspect is a notorious Icelanders cultists AKA Grade, that the police team arrested him in possession of a locally made revolver pistol with five rounds of. 9mm live ammunition.
The police command said investigation is ongoing to aid arrest of his cohorts.
