A Bayelsan lawmaker, Hon. Wilson Ayakpo Dauyegha, member representing Ekeremor constituency 2, and Deputy Minority Leader of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly has called on well meaning individuals to support the less privileged in the State over the stay at home order.
The lawmaker who made this public call, took to his social media page on Thursday morning, commended government efforts in curbing and combating the Corona virus pandemic and also extolled health workers who offer their skills, expertise and also risked their own health as frontiers in the fight against the pandemic.
Hon. Wilson also maintained that influential individuals in the society should compliment government’s effort by supporting the less privileged especially those living with disabilities to cushion the effect of the stay at home order on them.
The lawmaker in the same vein called on well meaning individuals to support government by providing palliatives to the indigents to ensure the full implementation of the lockdown.
“Recently covid-19 has taken a center stage in the scheme of things in our nations development. Government, international organizations and individuals are playing major roles to ensure no further spread of the virus across the globe.
“However, in support of government’s efforts we as individuals must continue to assist one another to enable full implementation of the stay at home directives by distributing palliatives to those who face a high risk of hunger and starvation; the people with disabilities, children and widows.
“At this critical time, I’m calling well meaning Nigerians and those with the wherewithal to kindly assist the less privileged more especially the people with disabilities.
“I commend the efforts of our health workers who are putting themselves at the forefront of this pandemic, you are not alone, our prayers are with you.
“Finally, let’s continue to obey all government’s directives and the social distancing. Wash your hands properly with soup and running water or use alcohol based sanitizers. Always endeavor to go out with your face mask. I am very confident that this plaque will pass away and the human race will survive. ” Hon Wilson Stated.
