YENAGOA- Bight Newspaper reports that Senator Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State today received Rt. Hon Werinipre Seibarugu’s supporters from the All Progressives Congress (APC) back into the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Rt. Hon Werinipre Seibarugu is former Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly and former acting Governor of the State who was Chief Timipre Sylva’s key supporter of the APC.
The group which is named “Seibarugu Political Dynasty was led by former Assembly candidate in Yenagoa Constituency Two, Barr. Ebiye Waripamo.
Governor Diri in his charge said they should go and add value to their people assuring them of equal rights and privileges in the PDP.
“I want to thank God for making it possible today for the Seibarugu Political Dynasty to formally announce their defection, resigning from the All Progressives Congress and joining the People’s Democratic Party in Bayelsa State.
So, my brothers mostly from Yenagoa Local Government Area and Constituency 2 of Ekpetiama and Gbarain, I believe that you are going to add value to our people.
So, my dear brothers and sisters, on behalf of your party, the Government of Bayelsa State, we join the Chairman of the party to welcome you and receive you wholeheartedly and be rest assured whatever any PDP member is getting, you will also get, “Governor Diri said.
Barr. Waripamo, said they were convinced that they made a good decision to support the re-election of Governor Diri based on his performance and for restoration of peace and security in the State.
Notable among the defectors were, Hon. Ebi Alamieyeseigha, Mr Dennis Yougosi, Hon. Ibomo Kenigua, Mr. Diepreye Thomas, Hon. Submarine Opuru, Mrs. Esther Saiyou, Chief, G. M James and many others.
Top among government functionaries who joined the Governor to receive the group were Hon. Fred Agbedi, Rt. Hon. Abraham Ingobere, Speaker of the State Assembly, Dr. Daniel Woyengikuro, PDP National Financial Secretary, Chief Solomon Agwana, State PDP Chairman, and Alabo Gideon Ekeuwei, Secretary to the State Government.
