Suicide: Ban Sniper, Related Substances – Reno Omokri Tells Buhari

Former Spokesperson to Former President Goodluck Jonathan, Mr. Bemigho Reno Omokri has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to place a ban on the sales of Sniper and related Substances as a measure to address the rising cases of suicide in Nigeria.
Omokri also advise President Buhari to set up National Suicide Prevention Team (NSPT) in order to address the menace which to him has attained epidemic level. He called on President to as a matter of important address Nigerians with a view of giving them hope.
Omokri made the call via his Twitter handle. The tweet reads in parts: “Dear President @MBuhari,
SUICIDE is at epidemic levels. I urge you to set up a National Suicide Prevention Team. Ban sales of SNIPER and similar substances. But most importantly, address the nation and give hope to the hopeless. God bless you.”
Regretting the preventable abusive usage of the Substance by some depressed and hopeless folks, Omokri said, in other countries harmful Substances like Snipers are not sold without prescription and authorization from medical/ health practitioners.
“Nigerians don’t understand how the banning of pharmaceuticals work. In advanced nations, substances, like sniper, are regulated. Before you can buy them, you need a certificate or a prescription. We need this. These substances shouldn’t just be available for sale to just anyone” Omokri advised.
