A WAKEUP CALL TO BAYELSAN YOUTHS TO SUPPORT THE DIRI’S ADMINISTRATION INSPITE OF PARTY AFFINITY

Let me begin this piece by reminding every well meaning Bayelsan especially the youths that the outcome of the 13th February, 2020 Supreme Court Judgement which saw the candidates of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Sen. Douye Diri and Sen. Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo ascended and assumed the highest office in the State, was miraculously designed by the Almighty God to avert the cry of Bayelsans and restore prosperity to all her citizens.
Firstly, may I crave your indulgence never to be perturbed by all and several litigations crowding the polity to cause a delibrate overhaul which may consequently delay the attainment of the prosperity agenda as calculated by the enemies of the State.
As a well-meaning youth of Bayelsa State, it is laughable to start clamoring for those moving from one temple of Justice to another, blindly seeking for Justice where they are the Victim of injustice knowingfully well that they are fighting against the collective soul of Bayelsans.
As a matter of fact, I want to unequivocally state here that, of all candidates who contested the November 16th, 2019 elections in Bayelsa State, no party is more qualified, experienced with the requisite penchant to make Bayelsa a prosperous state apart from from the candidates of the PDP who were initially robbed in a broad daylight but the Supreme God restored the victory of the party and that of all Bayelsans through the Supreme Court.
You need not to be reminded that since the advent of democratic reign in our Nation (Nigeria), this is the first time Bayelsa is having two experienced Senators as Governor and Deputy Governor.
On above background, therefore, it is imperative to call for a total support from every Bayelsan accross party lines because we must at all times put the interest of Bayelsa first before any other.
Morealso, placed under a critical scrutiny, the Diri led administration has displayed credibility and fulfilment of purpose over the little period of time it has being in office by fulfiling some of his campaign promises within the shortest period of time. I bet you no other party can achieve this within this period of time.
It may intrigues you to know that, the Gov. Diri’s Prosperity administration has amongst other things priotised our workers/pensioners’ welfare by an up-to-date payment of full salaries and pensions respectively, full implementation of the 30% minimum wage, initiation of the Etegwe Flyover project, initiation of the Glory Drive road, appointment of several Bayelsan youths into key roles in the government, laying the foundation of a health facility that will cushion against diseases in the state etc.
Conclusively, I call on all Bayelsan youths to wake up and shun unnecessary and unconstructive criticism against the government, we should not allow ourselves to be used as sacrificial lambs to those blood thirsty politicians who does not mean well for our dear State, shun myopia and support the Governor Douye Diri’s administration to build a prosperous and a formidable Bayelsa even as we are abreast of the fact that government is a collective responsibility.
