Bight gathered that the lawmaker while addressing newsmen in his official residence in Yenagoa said the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources has proven his worth and today because of him the APC is able to wrestle power with the ruling PDP and has successfully clinched 2 House of Representative seats out of the 5, 1 Senatorial seat out of the 3 in the state and 5 seats out of 24 in the State House of Assembly.

Hon. Dauyegha said Chief Sylva is a political Colossus and rather than being criticised for the unfortunate supreme court judgement that sacked the APC in the just concluded governorship poll in the State, he should be praised for bringing the party closer to the people and the most popular in the state.

“I have never seen any leader like Chief Timipre Sylva. He is committed to the course of encouraging younger generations and building leaders. I pray all critical stakeholders of the party can emulate this political Colossus for with him the fortunes of the party will change drastically in the coming months and years.”

He further stressed that “all critical stakeholders in the party will rally around Chief Sylva and be interested in the growth and development of the younger generation, the party will surely claim the two senatorial seats in the forthcoming Bayelsa Central and West senatorial by-elections.”

“Today, thanks to the decision of Chief Sylva for projecting Chief David Lyon for the governorship position in the November 16, 2019 governorship poll in the state. That singular action has increased the love and fortune of the party in the state.”

Hon. Dauyegha further enjoined party faithfuls that “this is the time to put the house in order and rally around the leader of the party in the state as the party will be preparing to claim the two vacant senatorial seats hopefully after the call off of the stay at home directive due to the covid-19 pandemic.”
