MORE GROUPS IN BAYELSA WEST ENDORSE SENATOR LAWRENCE EWHRUDJAKPO’s CANDIDATURE AS RUNNING MATE TO SEN DOUYE DIRI, PDP GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE AHEAD OF NOVEMBER POLLS.
Concerned Socio Political Organizations in Bayelsa West Senatorial District have joined other well meaning individuals and groups to endorsed Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo candidature as running mate to the flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate, Sen Douye Diri in the forth coming governorship election in Bayelsa state.
In a joint meeting held at Wetland Hotel in Warri, Delta state, the group which includes Like Minds Forum of Bayelsa West, Niger Delta Renaissance group and Alliance for Democracy and Good Governance, Bayelsa West chapter said the choice of Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo to be the running mate to Sen Diri was a collective decision reached after several hours of deliberation.
Speaking, the Coordinator and convener of the meeting, Comrade Joshua Oboshonure highlighted that meeting of different Socio political and pressure groups in the area to look into the issues became imperative following the bickering over who becomes the deputy to Sen Douye Diri, governorship candidate of PDP from the zone, saying the move was in the interest of the People.
Comrade Oboshonure who is also the Secretary of Bayelsa West Frontiers for good governance advocated that in view of his sterling qualities, Bayelsa west can not afford to lose Sen Ewhrudjakpo for other candidate for the job of a deputy to attract development to the area.
He however, used the opportunity to call on the PDP family in Bayelsa West to see the choice of Sen Ewhrudjakpo as the best option and enjoined them to give him maximum support to succeed.
In their separate remarks, the leadership of Like Minds Forum of Bayelsa West, Pastor Pattens Tareyelaemi and Mr. Clever Ayoro , Coordinator of Alliance for Democracy and Good Governance pointed out that as a Commissioner for works and Infrastructure for over seven years and Chaired several committees, Sen Ewhrudjakpo has served the state meritoriously with proven integrity, stressing that they are confident of his ability to deliver if given the chance.
While describing the Ofoni born politician as a man of many parts with vast experience in Governance and the public sector, the duo explained that the Senator who is a faithful party loyalist has what it takes to be the state number two man come November sixteenth.
Main while, on her part, a women leader and representative of of Niger Delta Renaissance Group, Mrs Beauty Nija on behalf of the women said they are fully in support of the move for Ewhrudjakpo to deputise for Sen Diri , adding that he had impacted positively on women severely through financial empowerment and skills development programmes .
Mrs Nija insisted that women in the area will resist any plan by selfish politicians who don’t meant well for political advancement of the area to go against the Peoples choice, Senator Ewhrudjakpo as running mate to the PDP governorship candidate.
