The candidate of the People Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo has been declared winner of the just concluded senatorial polls in Bayelsa West.
Mr. Ewhrudjakpo won the poll with a total of 49,912 votes to defeat his opponent, the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Mr. Mathew Karimo who scored a total of 20,219 votes.
The returning officer for the Bayelsa West senatorial District Dr. Raimi Lasisi, while declaring the result in Sagbama, the headquarters of the Senatorial District, made this known after hours of collating results from the various wards where polls were conducted in the senatorial district.
Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo having polled the highest votes in the poll, was declared winner and returned elected by the Bayelsa West Senatorial District returning officer, Raimi Lasisi.
 Mr. Mathew Karimo who scored a total of 20,219 votes.){kind=link}
