Bight News reports that stakeholders meeting slated for today by the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State ahead of the November Governorship polls has ended in deadlock.

Bight News gathered that no resolution was reached following the disappearance of the state chairman during deliberations. It was a stakeholders meeting of the All Progressive Congress, Bayelsa State chapter.

“The agenda of the meeting was to deliberate on the forthcoming  primaries scheduled for 29th of August 2019 but no decision was reached as the meeting ended in a stalemate.”

“All major stakeholders of the party APC walked out from the meeting, after the state party chairman and some his executive ran away.” source said.

The meeting was attended by major stakeholders of the party in the state, including  two former Governors of Bayelsa state, His Excellency, Chief Nestor Binabo and  Chief Timipre Sylva, a Chieftain and Governorship aspirant of the Party, Prince (Engr.) Preye Aganaba and Ex-minister, Heineken Lokpobiri amongst others.

However, group loyal to the former Governor of Bayelsa State Timipre Sylva, who is also believed to pick the governorship ticket to contest the forthcoming election, claimed that the party chieftains have adopted direct Primaries.
