..Says Only Sylva’s candidature can win elections for APC in Bayelsa State
Yenagoa: Bight News correspondence gathered that an ace Ijaw Youth Leader Barr. Festus Daumiebi has today placed a formal call on the former governor of Bayelsa State to declare his intent to run for the imminent gubernatorial elections in the state.
Barr. Festus Daumiebi, the APC chieftain, Bayelsa Central senatorial candidate in the immediate past general election and a frontier Ijaw Youth leader, who made the official call on the Ex-governor of Bayelsa state and leader of the All Progressive Congress Bayelsa state, Chief Timipre Sylva,while addressing members of the press at his residence in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, implored Sylva to join the race to Creek Haven by declaring his interest to contest for the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.
Daumiebi noted that Sylva is the most qualified for the race under the APC auspices being that he is the most outstanding party man with the required pedigree and plausible experience to knock horns with what he referred as the failed restoration agenda of Bayelsa state government and eventually rescue the state from its current foes.
Barr. Daumiebi asseverated that Chief Timipre Sylva has a fascinating and impeccable antecedents in the state as a past Governor and Leader of the APC Bayelsa State.
He expounded that under the leadership of Chief Sylva as a governor, Bayelsa State had a bullish economy which is the direct contrast of the current condition where everything has come to a halt as the State has been wrecked by the gross mismanagement of resources under the current administration having no substantial achievement to show for the Seven (7) and half years it has managed the State’s allocation and resources.
He therefore, rated Chief Timipre Sylva’s administration very high in terms of infrastructural development; pinpointing that the Sylva’s administration constructed 54 internal roads in Yenagoa alone amongst other viable projects in the other Eight (8) Local Government Areas of the state.
He added that “the Sylva’s administration retrofitted the Health Sector, Civil servants were properly and duly catered for, Student Welfare and others.”
Daumiebi recounted the pains of Bayelsans for the past seven years under the Gov. Dickson led restoration government, “The state of things in Bayelsa is very terrible, the lack of infrastructural development, a government that has taken 7 and half years to dualize an already built Issac Boro expressway without the political Will of completing it; and the numerous cases of insecurity, the yearnings of civil servants; shortage of salaries, no implementation of promotion and payment of gratuity and many others despite the fact that the restoration government has received the highest allocation, bail out funds and Paris club refunds since the inception of the state.” He said
Barr. Daumiebi stated with intensity that it is only Chief Timipre Sylva under the APC that has capacity to battle with the incumbent government in the forthcoming Gubernatorial elections in Bayelsa.
He added that it is only Chief Sylva that has a capacitated political structures to rescue Bayelsa and take over power from the restoration Government in an electoral contest.
He therefore, urged all members of the APC Bayelsa to pull their weights behind Chief Timipre Sylva to clinch the party’s ticket.
He also maintained that though other members of the party have the right to contest the party primaries but any other candidate than Chief Timipre Sylva, is an exercise in vain.
“ It’s only Sylva that has the structures to win elections in Bayelsa State for APC”. He said.
Daumiebi finally counsel other respective members of the party in Bayelsa State who has the interest to contest the gubernatorial race to withdraw their intents for Sylva who is coming to take the party flag and lead it to victory in the elections at last.
