Nyesom Wike

The Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike has replaced the official portrait of President Muhammadu Buhari with Atiku Abubakar’s portrait in government House.

Atiku Abubakar is the candidate of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in the just concluded presidential election, won by the incumbent President, Muhammadu Buhari as declared by INEC. However, Atiku and his party -PDP have rejected the results of the polls, saying that the votes were manipulated in favor of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Recall that earlier this week, Nigerians who are angry over the irregularities that characterised the polls and how figures were allegedly awarded to Muhammadu Buhari by INEC to defeat Atiku, had called on the PDP candidate to set up parallel government. Adding that in 2015, Buhari President to set up parallel government if the polls are rigged.

Consequently, Wike seemed to have hearken to the voices of angry Nigerians as he began removal of official portrait belonging to the incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari from state offices. Wike is the candidate of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming governorship election in Rivers State.
