As the search for who becomes the next Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly begins, the lawmaker representing the people of Ekeremor constituency II, Hon. King Wilson A. Dauyegha has tendered an unreserved apology to the people of Bayelsa State whom he must have offended wittingly or unwittingly during the last election.

Wilson who is the only All Progressive Congress Lawmaker from his senatorial district (Bayelsa West) in the state House, tendered his apology to Bayelsans via a post he released on his verified personal facebook handle on Saturday. According to him “politics is a game and election is a process”, adding that whatever decision he must taken in time past was not intended to hurt anyone.

“I want to sincerely use this medium to apologize to anyone who I may have offended during the course of the elections. Politics is a game and election is just a process and it shouldn’t take away our human nature of living peacefully with one another. Sometimes decisions must be taken but it is not intended to hurt anyone.

“In our Ijaw land peace and unity is achievable only if we as a people can agree to unite in spite of differences whether politically or clannishly. The secret of attaining peace and prosperity in our communities is centered on mutual understanding, respect and tolerance.

“Our lives have become increasingly interdependent, no one is alone, so when our brother is harmed, it affects us too. Therefore we have to abandon old notions of ‘we’ versus ‘them’ and think of our world much more in terms of how we can get better as a people with numerous resources at our disposal. This is how we can attract development and opportunities for our people.

“Finally, peace within ourselves should be our mandate and it must be a collective effort of everyone. This will create a conducive environment for businesses to thrive and our people can benefit from the numerous opportunities associated with it.

“Please, whosoever I have offended knowingly or unknowingly I beg for your forgiveness. Bitterness is like cancer it spreads and kills faster than you can imagine.” the lawmaker submitted.

Wilson who is the Deputy Minority Leader in the state House is one of the lawmakers, members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state are projecting to be the Speaker of the State when the next administration comes on board by February 14th, 2019.
